The installation of a new state-of-the-art gondola in the Grand Hirafu sector marks another step in Niseko's ongoing evolution as a world-class winter sports destination. The new Hirafu gondola, set to become Niseko's third in the Grand Hirafu area, will replace the aging Ace Quad Lift #2 Center 4, which has faithfully served visitors since 1985. This ultra-modern 10-person gondola promises to revolutionize access to some of Niseko's best terrain from the top of the popular Ace Family run.

This upgrade aligns with Niseko's reputation for having the most frequent lift improvements among Japanese ski resorts over the past two decades. The decision to replace the old quad lift wasn't taken lightly. A farewell ceremony was held at the end of the season, celebrating the countless memories made during its nearly four-decade service. In a touching tribute, the resort auctioned off the old lift chairs, with some fetching up to 150,000 yen (approximately £750) each - a testament to the emotional connection many visitors have with the resort.
