Vancouver's Premier Ski Resort Enhances Mountain Access with State-of-the-Art Gondola
Getting to the slopes at Grouse Mountain just got a major upgrade. Previously, skiers and riders relied on two trams to access the mountain's terrain, with the same trams required for descent since there's no skiable route to the base. The two-cabin system created bottlenecks and long wait times - but that's now changing.
On December 12th, Grouse Mountain celebrated the launch of their new Blue Grouse Gondola with a grand opening ceremony. The event featured a ribbon cutting, live DJ entertainment, complimentary hot beverages, and a fireworks display.

“The addition of the gondola has allowed us to explore a whole mountain of opportunities not previously available with just the Red Super Skyride. It’s an exciting time for Grouse and we’re so happy to be sharing these new amenities with our community“ said Michael Cameron, who’s the President of Grouse Mountain.
The new Leitner-Poma gondola system showcases modern engineering at its finest. With 27 eight-person cabins and a swift 5.5-minute ride time, the gondola offers breathtaking views of Vancouver's skyline and surrounding mountains. This new installation replaces the previous Blue Skyride tram, while the Red Skyride continues to serve visitors as a complementary uplift option.
