New High-Speed Chairlift Enhances Hunter Mountain's Ski Experience
Hunter Mountain took a major step forward on December 1st with the launch of its newest addition - the Broadway Express. This state-of-the-art Leitner-Poma high-speed six-pack chairlift replaces the previous Broadway Quad, bringing significant improvements to the resort's infrastructure.
The new lift serves skiers and riders of all abilities, from beginners to experts, while providing direct access to Hunter's popular terrain parks: Park Avenue and Park Avenue West. The redesigned bottom terminal sits closer to the base lodge, offering more convenient access for guests. The upper terminal features a gentler unloading area, making dismounting easier for all skill levels.

Trail improvements complement the new lift installation. The lift line now runs along Gun Hill Road instead of Kennedy Drive, and both trails have been widened to accommodate increased skier traffic. The new configuration allows riders to access Gun Hill Road directly from the new Lift B, improving the overall flow of mountain traffic.
The improvements extend to Hunter East, where the former Broadway quad finds new life as the Otis Quad, replacing an aging double chairlift. This strategic relocation enhances access to beginner and intermediate terrain, offering improved reliability and increased capacity for the Hunter East section.

The Otis Quad installation prompted additional trail enhancements, with Rip Van Winkle, Fordham Road, and Boston Road all receiving width improvements. The removal of old Lift E towers has created more spacious runs on Central Park and Central Park North, delivering a more comfortable experience for everyone on the slopes.
Currently operating with nine trails and four lifts, Hunter Mountain is positioned to expand its available terrain as weather conditions permit, thanks to recent snowfall and cold temperatures.
