Bretton Woods Enhances Skiing Experience with Major Upgrades

Bretton Woods, New Hampshire's largest ski area, is set to improve its offerings for the 2025-2026 season. The resort, known for its views of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range, will replace its long-standing Bethlehem Express Quad with a modern high-speed lift. Additionally, a new black diamond glade will open up more terrain for advanced skiers and riders.

The new BEQ II lift, a four-person Leitner-Poma detachable quad, will replace the 35-year-old Bethlehem Express Quad. This upgrade aims to reduce wait times and improve access to the slopes by transporting 1,800 people per hour. The lift's terminals will be repositioned to enhance the overall guest experience. The bottom terminal will move uphill to reduce congestion and improve access to other lifts, while the top terminal will be relocated to create an easier exit for beginners.

Complementing the lift upgrade, Bretton Woods will introduce a new black diamond glade between Upper Swoop and Upper Express. This addition will provide more options for advanced skiers and snowboarders looking for challenging terrain.

Alexa Bernotavicz, assistant director of ski operations at Bretton Woods, emphasised that these improvements are part of the resort's ongoing commitment to enhancing the skiing and snowboarding experience. The new lift is scheduled to be operational by October, in time for the 2025-2026 winter season.

Bretton Woods offers 464 acres of skiable terrain, with 10 lifts serving 63 trails and 35 glades. The resort has been recognised for its quality, recently being named the top ski resort in New Hampshire by Boston.com readers and ranking among the top 30 ski resorts in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler. These latest upgrades are expected to further solidify Bretton Woods' position as a premier ski destination in New England.
