Simond's promising career included representing France at the Junior World Championships in Tarvisio and the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Georgia. Her untimely death has left the skiing community in mourning, with tributes pouring in from around the world.

The French Ski Federation expressed deep sorrow over the loss, emphasising the impact on the entire skiing community. International skiing stars, including Mikaela Shiffrin and Lindsey Vonn, also shared messages of condolence. The Red Bull Alpine Park event, which Simond was training for, has been cancelled in light of the tragedy.

This incident marks the third fatal accident involving young skiers during training this season. In March 2025, 18-year-old Italian Marco Degli Uomini died after a crash at the Zoncolan ski area, and 19-year-old Matilde Lorenzi lost her life in a training accident on the Schnalstal Glacier four months prior.

Val d'Isère, where the accident occurred, is a well-known ski resort in the French Alps. It has hosted numerous international skiing events and is part of the Espace Killy ski area, offering a wide range of slopes for skiers of all levels. The resort is known for its challenging terrain, which attracts top athletes for training and competition. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the risks inherent in high-level ski racing, even at world-class venues like Val d'Isère.
