Hoch-Ybrig Modernises with World's First TRI-Line

The Weglosen-Seebli cable car in Hoch-Ybrig, Switzerland, has completed its final journey after 55 years of operation. On March 25, 2025, the dismantling process began, marking the end of an era for this long-standing lift. However, this closure paves the way for a significant upgrade to the resort's infrastructure.

Construction of the world's first TRI-Line is already underway, scheduled to be operational for the 2025/26 ski season. The mountain station was completed last summer, and work on the valley station is progressing rapidly. The new 'Stella' cabin was delivered to the site before its official unveiling at the Interalpin trade fair in Innsbruck in May.

Hoch-Ybrig, located in the Canton of Schwyz, is known for its skiing and hiking opportunities. The area is framed by the Forstberg - Druesberg (2282 metres) - Twäriberg mountain range, which separates Hoch-Ybrig from the Muotathal valley and the Canton of Glarus.

The Weglosen downhill run, a favourite among experienced skiers, offers a diverse route featuring an imposing rock face, forest sections, and a bridge at the finish line. Skiers can enjoy views of the Roggenstock and the soon-to-be-replaced mountain station of the Weglosen-Seebli cable car. The Restaurant Sternen, situated at the start of this piste, provides panoramic views of the Alps and the surrounding ski area.

Hoch-Ybrig's decision to replace the Weglosen-Seebli cable car with the new TRI-Line represents a significant investment in the resort's future. This upgrade aims to enhance the skiing experience and maintain Hoch-Ybrig's position as a leading ski destination in Switzerland. The introduction of this new technology marks the beginning of a new chapter for the resort, blending its rich history with modern advancements in ski lift technology.
