Whistler Blackcomb Announces Spring Skiing Changes

Whistler Blackcomb is adjusting its operations as the ski season winds down. The resort has announced that Whistler Mountain and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola will cease operations on April 21. From April 22 onwards, spring skiing will be available exclusively on Blackcomb Mountain. This change coincides with the conclusion of the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, marking the transition from winter to spring activities at the resort.

The resort advises skiers and riders to be aware of variable snow conditions at all elevations. With fluctuating temperatures, freeze-thaw cycles are expected from the alpine areas down to the valley. Whistler Blackcomb emphasises the importance of staying alert and adapting to changing conditions. The final day for skiing at the resort this season is set for May 19, allowing for nearly a month of spring skiing opportunities on Blackcomb Mountain.

As skiing winds down, Whistler Blackcomb is preparing for its summer activities. The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is scheduled to open on May 16, followed by the start of sightseeing operations on Whistler Mountain and the reopening of the Peak 2 Peak Gondola on May 17. These dates signal the resort's shift towards its warm-weather offerings. For those planning to visit during this transitional period, Whistler Blackcomb provides updated information on terrain status, backcountry access, weather forecasts, and avalanche hazard ratings through their official channels, ensuring visitors can make informed decisions about their activities at the resort.
