Arapahoe Basin Refines Parking Reservations for 2025-26

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area in Colorado is updating its parking reservation system for the 2025-26 season. This change comes as the resort prepares for its first full winter offering unlimited access to full Ikon Pass holders. The new parking system aims to manage traffic flow and maintain the resort's atmosphere as visitor numbers potentially increase.

The current parking system, introduced in the 2024-25 season, was implemented to address traffic issues on U.S. Highway 6 near Loveland Pass. It required reservations on busy days and charged $20 per vehicle, with free parking for cars with four or more occupants. This approach helped reduce roadside congestion and prevented situations where vehicles were towed or turned away.

For the upcoming season, Arapahoe Basin is refining its approach. Reservations will now only be required on Saturdays and Sundays from January 3 to May 3, eliminating the need for bookings during holiday periods. The resort will continue to offer free afternoon access for arrivals after 1 p.m. on weekends.

The new system allows up to four active reservations per account, double the previous limit, though users can still only book one space per day. Pricing remains unchanged at $20 per car, with no charge for vehicles carrying four or more people. A limited number of seasonal parking passes, priced around $230, will be available from May 20. These passes still require reservations but cover daily parking fees.

The reservation system will continue to apply to the Early Riser, High Noon, Last Chance, and Upper Last Chance lots. Paid options for The Beach and Admin Lot will also be available. ADA-accessible parking remains free with a reservation.

The 2025-26 season marks a significant change for Arapahoe Basin as it offers unlimited access to full Ikon Pass holders for the first time. Ikon Base Pass holders will continue to receive five days of access. This shift comes after the resort left Vail Resorts' Epic Pass in 2019, citing the need to preserve its unique character and guest experience.

Arapahoe Basin's management is focused on balancing increased visitation with maintaining the resort's identity. The updated parking system is part of this strategy, aiming to manage traffic flow and ensure a positive experience for all visitors. As the resort adapts to these changes, skiers and riders can expect a more streamlined parking process that supports Arapahoe Basin's commitment to providing quality skiing while managing growth.
