Lenzerheide Bergbahnen Hits New Heights in 2024/25
Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG (LBB) has reported an exceptional 2024/25 financial year, marking another record-breaking period for the Swiss ski resort operator. The company's success was primarily driven by strong winter performance, which more than offset a challenging summer season. LBB's achievements include surpassing CHF 40 million in sales, investing over CHF 11 million in infrastructure and digital improvements, and planning an additional CHF 15 million in future developments.

The 2024/25 winter season saw a 1.3% increase in ski days, totalling 1,421,657. Arosa Lenzerheide was among the first major Swiss ski resorts to fully open before the holiday period, thanks to effective snowmaking and slope management. The season extended until April 21, benefiting from favourable weather conditions.
While the summer of 2024 fell short of expectations due to unfavourable weather, with visitor numbers dropping by 14.3% to 167,135, the robust winter performance more than compensated for this decline. The company's catering operations also achieved record results, contributing to the overall strong financial performance.
LBB's significant investments included the replacement of the Stätzerträli chairlift, which proved successful from the start. Looking ahead, the company plans to invest CHF 15 million in the 2025/26 financial year, focusing on further improvements to its facilities and services.
The company is also preparing for leadership changes. CEO Thomas Küng will step down at the end of April 2025, following four of the most successful years in LBB's history. Additionally, Chairman of the Board Felix Frei will resign at the upcoming Annual General Meeting on September 26, 2025. The search for successors to both positions is currently underway.
Lenzerheide Bergbahnen AG is set to commence its 2025 summer season with weekend operations starting May 17, 2025, beginning with the Rothorn 1 gondola lift. The Tgantieni and Scalottas chairlifts are expected to open a week later, weather permitting. A highlight of the upcoming season will be the opening of the new Stone Gnome Trail on September 27, 2025, coinciding with the start of the fall break.
The ski resort's continued success and ambitious investment plans reflect its commitment to enhancing visitor experiences and maintaining its position as a leading destination for skiers and riders in Switzerland.
