Mt Perisher 6 Chairlift Completes First Test Run

The new Mt Perisher 6 chairlift at Perisher ski resort has completed its first test run, one month before the 2025 ski season begins. This $26 million project, which has been in construction for over 18 months, represents a major upgrade to the resort's infrastructure. The development of the Mt Perisher 6 chairlift has been a collaborative effort between Perisher and Doppelmayr Australia. Shaun Turner, General Manager of Doppelmayr Australia, highlighted the team's dedication, stating, 'We're all working really hard towards the goal. Nothing's too hard, or too small – we've all been on board to work together.' Turner, who took part in the test run, described the experience as 'pretty special', noting the impressive views of Mt Perisher.

Michael Fearnside, Perisher's Operations Director, acknowledged the collective effort behind the project. 'There's so much work involved and it's truly a team effort. It's been quite the challenge, and quite the result,' Fearnside remarked. The successful test run of the Mt Perisher 6 chairlift marks a significant step forward for Perisher ski resort. This new addition is expected to enhance the skiing and riding experience for visitors in the upcoming season, improving access to Mt Perisher's slopes and potentially reducing wait times during peak periods.
