Inclusive Snow Sports Event Coming to Perisher in 2025
Snow Australia has announced the 2025 Adaptive Festival, scheduled for September 12-14 at Perisher Ski Resort. This event aims to provide an inclusive environment for people with disabilities to experience skiing and snowboarding. The festival welcomes participants of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced athletes, and is supported by Disabled Wintersport Australia (DWA) and Paralympics Australia.

The Adaptive Festival will offer activities across three disciplines: Alpine, Snowboard, and Cross Country skiing. Participants will gather at Sport and Recreation Jindabyne before heading to Perisher for on-snow activities. Snow Australia and DWA have committed to covering costs for passes, accommodation, and gear to reduce financial barriers for first-time participants. However, attendees will need to arrange their own travel to Jindabyne, daily transport to Perisher, DWA membership, and meals.
Over the two-day event, skiers and riders will receive guidance from instructors and support staff. The program includes skill development sessions, social activities, and an optional fun race. A relaxed on-snow BBQ will conclude the first day's activities.

Perisher Ski Resort, located in New South Wales, provides an ideal setting for the Adaptive Festival. With its extensive terrain and modern facilities, Perisher is well-equipped to accommodate skiers and riders with various abilities. The resort's commitment to accessibility aligns with the festival's goals of promoting inclusive snow sports.
Those interested in participating in the 2025 Adaptive Festival must register by September 1st. This event represents a significant step towards making snow sports more accessible and enjoyable for people with disabilities, fostering a community of adaptive skiers and riders in Australia.
