Ski Amadé Announces Major Leadership Transition

Ski Amadé, Austria's largest ski association, is undergoing a significant change in leadership. After more than 20 years as Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Christoph Eisinger is stepping down. His successor will be Manuel Schnell, who currently serves as his deputy. This change represents a planned generational shift for the organisation, which has become a cornerstone of European tourism since its founding in 2000.

Under Dr. Eisinger's leadership, Ski Amadé has achieved remarkable growth and innovation. Key accomplishments include establishing Ski Amadé as an internationally recognised brand, developing a unique cooperation model among cable car companies and tourism associations, and introducing a unified ski pass system. The organisation has also made significant strides in digitalisation, launching an e-commerce platform, a ski resort app, and implementing data-enabled ski goggles.

Manuel Schnell, who has been with Ski Amadé for over 13 years, is set to continue this trajectory of innovation. The future focus will be on expanding digital services, strengthening regional partnerships, enhancing the ticketing system, and incorporating artificial intelligence into operations. Schnell expressed his commitment to maintaining Ski Amadé's high standards of guest experience, emphasising quality, passion, and progress.

The leadership transition at Ski Amadé marks a new chapter for Austrian skiing. The organisation plans to maintain its strong brand identity while adapting to future challenges in the ski industry. This change comes at a time when ski resorts worldwide are facing evolving consumer expectations and environmental considerations.

Ski Amadé encompasses a vast network of ski areas across Austria, including regions like Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein, Gastein, Hochkönig, and Großarltal. These areas collectively offer over 760 kilometres of slopes and 270 lifts, making it one of the largest ski networks in Europe. The association's commitment to innovation and guest experience has been crucial in maintaining its position as a leading ski destination, attracting skiers and riders from around the globe.
