Val d'Isère Welcomes Summer Skiers to Pisaillas Glacier
Val d'Isère, a ski resort in the French Alps, is set to open its Pisaillas Glacier for summer skiing. From June 7 to July 6, 2025, skiers and riders can hit the slopes at altitudes above 3,000 meters. The glacier becomes accessible as the Col de l'Iseran, Europe's highest paved mountain pass, opens to traffic on June 6 at 4:00 p.m.

The Pisaillas Glacier ski area ranges from 2,725 to 3,300 meters in elevation. It offers three public slopes: Combe du Géant, Montets, and Moraine. Additionally, four runs are reserved for team and club training: Pisaillas, Roche, Champions, and Aiguille-Perse. The lift system includes the Cascade chairlift at the base and the Montets surface lift, which takes skiers to Val d'Isère's highest skiable point at 3,197 meters.
Visitors will find a ski pass sales point and the Cascade Restaurant near the parking area at the glacier's base. The resort operates daily from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., weather and road conditions permitting. Skiers should check the resort's website for current conditions before travelling.

Summer skiing at Val d'Isère provides a unique opportunity to ski at high altitudes while enjoying warm weather and clear views of the Alps. The Col de l'Iseran route allows access from both Val d'Isère and Bonneval-sur-Arc, attracting not only skiers but also cyclists, motorcyclists, and motorists.
Val d'Isère, located in the Vanoise National Park, is known for its extensive ski terrain and high-altitude slopes. The summer skiing option on the Pisaillas Glacier extends the resort's appeal beyond the traditional winter season, offering skiers and riders an additional month of snow sports in a stunning alpine setting.
