One&Only is opening at Courchevel 1850 in 2030 - and if the price point of everything else in Jardin Alpin is any guide, start saving now.
Parent company Kerzner International has announced the brand's first alpine resort in Europe, to be built on the site of the existing Courcheneige Hotel in the Jardin Alpin enclave of Courchevel 1850. The project is scheduled to open in 2030 and will include a hotel, wellness facilities, multiple dining and après-ski venues, and a limited collection of branded private residences.
The announcement follows One&Only's recent move into mountain hospitality with the opening of One&Only Moonlight Basin in Montana. Courchevel represents the brand's first European alpine property.

The Site and the Setting
Courchevel 1850 sits at the top of the Les 3 Vallées ski domain - the largest interconnected ski area in the world. The Jardin Alpin enclave is among the most exclusive addresses in the resort, and the new One&Only will occupy a position at its summit with direct ski-in/ski-out access onto the Bellecôte piste.
The existing Courcheneige Hotel will be completely redeveloped as part of the project. Kerzner has said the transformation will aim to preserve the character of the site while rebuilding it around One&Only's design approach and service philosophy.
What the Resort Will Include
Rooms and suites are being designed around natural light, privacy, and mountain views, using what Kerzner describes as a contemporary interpretation of alpine architecture - warm natural materials, understated interiors, residential in feel rather than grand-hotel formal.
Dining is being positioned as a core part of the experience, which makes sense given Courchevel's existing reputation as one of the better-fed resorts in the Alps. Plans include multiple restaurants, bars, lounges, and après-ski spaces intended to function as social venues beyond the hotel guest list.
The wellness offering will include indoor and outdoor thermal facilities, treatment suites, recovery spaces, and movement studios - targeted at both skiers looking for recovery infrastructure and non-skiing guests who are essentially there for the mountain air and the spa.

Private Residences
The project will also deliver a collection of One&Only Private Homes - branded residences in one of the most supply-constrained alpine property markets in Europe. Courchevel's combination of limited developable land and sustained international demand means these will almost certainly attract serious attention from buyers well before completion.
Branded residences have become one of the more active corners of the luxury real estate market globally, particularly in ski destinations where buyers want private ownership alongside hotel-level services.
The Broader Context
The One&Only announcement is part of a broader pattern at the top end of the ski industry, where luxury hospitality brands are treating high-altitude alpine resorts as year-round lifestyle destinations rather than seasonal ski operations. Competition at this level has shifted well beyond slope quality - architecture, dining, wellness credentials, and exclusivity are all increasingly part of how resorts differentiate themselves.
For Australian skiers, Courchevel is already a well-known name - it sits within Les 3 Vallées, which remains one of the most frequently visited European destinations for Australians travelling specifically for skiing. A One&Only opening there in 2030 won't change the skiing, but it will add another option at the very top of the accommodation market for those for whom the lodge at Falls Creek no longer cuts it.
