Perisher Opening.jpg

Stop the press! The first resort to open in the southern hemisphere this year is……..

PERISHER!

This evening Perisher sent an email to let everyone know that due to some optimal snow making conditions they are ready to start welcoming visitors for the 2021 season. From this Friday the 4th of June the lifts will start spinning on the front valley region of the resort and we can already imagine that there are a number of riders from around Australia are already planning on how to get to Perisher.

If you haven’t already got an Epic Pass lined up then you can grab a lift ticket tomorrow online, we assume the pricing will be set at $139.00 (as per their original opening date of 12th June pricing).

What is opening?

  • Front Valley

    • Village 8 Express chair

    • Beginners carpets

    • Mitchells T-Bar will open from Saturday 5th June

  • Terrain Park

    • It's that time of the year! Perisher's world-class and critically acclaimed Slopestyle terrain park will be back in action from Friday 4 June. Come down for your first jib of the season!

  • Snowports School & Lessons

    • From Saturday 5th June private lessons will be available for all skill levels

  • Ski or Snowboard Hire

  • Retail: Slopestyle Mountain Sports will be open from Friday 4th June on both levels of the Perisher Centre

  • Food and Beverage: A variety of food and beverage outlets will open up and be open during the day time from 4th June

Perisher will also continue to operate in a safe matter regarding Health and Safety so face mask are recommended, maintain social distancing, no cash, practise good hygiene and always stay home if you feel unwell.

Not only will the lifts start spinning on Friday but from tomorrow you can book lift tickets, lessons and ski-tube passes for the rest of the season. What we have normally seen is that the resorts stagger the sales over the whole season however Perisher is bucking that trend and going for it all now.

Below is a snapshot of the region that will likely open, it’s a small portion of the overall terrain at Perisher however with the very hit and miss season Australia had in 2020 any lifts and runs will keep people happy with smiles all round.

Here is what Perisher had to say on their website

Drumroll please...

We couldn't wait to welcome you back so we decided to open early! That's right, PERISHER IS OPEN FROM FRIDAY 4 JUNE!

We're not saying drop everything but, drop everything! The story began a long, long time ago...okay not that long ago. But basically, our Mountain Operations team have been going back and forth in hard negotiations with the gods to organise a colder than average month of May.

Success! With cool nights set as the new normal, and another top-up on the way this week, we’re excited to kick things off with a bang on Friday 4 June.

You heard us! It's time to get ready for some PRIMO early season skiing and boarding.

DON'T MISS OUT! TUESDAY 15 JUNE 2021, IS THE LAST CHANCE TO LOCK IN YOUR 2021 EPIC AUSTRALIA PASS!

We will continue to update everywhere as the other resorts plan their opening events and who knows, maybe another resort might try and beat them to it.

Make sure you follow us on our socials!
