Magic Mountain In Vermont Suffers Flood Damage

Torrential rains in the northeast have been causing widespread havoc, leading to major flooding. Unfortunately, the destructive force of these floods has also affected Magic Mountain Ski Area in Londonderry, Vermont. While the exact extent of the damages caused by the flooding is yet to be determined, pictures shared on Twitter clearly indicate that the ski resort will face significant challenges once the storms subside.

Due to the flooding, numerous roads in the Londonderry area have been closed. It is advised for those in the vicinity to prioritise their safety, and visitors should postpone their travel to and within the mountain towns of southern Vermont. The rivers and streams in the region are continuously rising as more rain is expected throughout the day. While Magic Mountain Ski Area has suffered some property damage, a comprehensive evaluation can only be conducted once the rain stops and access to the hill becomes possible. On a positive note, the recently constructed snowmaking pond dam structure, completed last autumn, is performing well and has been designed to withstand such catastrophic events.
