Epic Pass Expands Austrian Offerings with Mayrhofen and Hintertux

Vail Resorts has announced the addition of Mayrhofen and Hintertux ski resorts to the Epic Pass for the 2025-26 winter season. Located in Austria's Zillertal Valley, these resorts are about 45 miles from Innsbruck Airport. The expansion gives Epic Pass holders access to six distinct areas: Hintertux Glacier, Eggalm, Rastkogel, Finkenberg, Penken, and Ahorn. This addition provides skiers and riders with over 120 miles of groomed slopes and the opportunity for year-round winter sports on the Hintertux Glacier.

Mayrhofen and Hintertux cater to a wide range of skill levels. Beginners can enjoy gentle runs on the Ahorn plateau, while advanced skiers can tackle the Harakiri slope, Austria's steepest with a 78% gradient. The resorts also feature two world-class snow parks, including PenkenPark in Mayrhofen, which offers jumps and obstacles for freestylers of all abilities.

Hintertux Glacier is unique in offering winter sports throughout the summer, thanks to its high elevation and favourable conditions. The resort also boasts attractions like Nature's Ice Palace, a glacial cave system with ice crystals, frozen waterfalls, and a glacial lake. For those seeking alternatives to skiing and snowboarding, the resorts offer winter hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, and toboggan runs.

The Epic Pass, priced at $1,051 for adults and $537 for children, will include five consecutive days of access across Mayrhofen and Hintertux. This addition complements Vail Resorts' recent expansion in Austria, which includes ski resorts in Saalbach and Zell am See-Kaprun.

Mayrhofen and Hintertux ski resorts offer a blend of traditional Austrian culture and modern skiing amenities. The area is known for its breathtaking Alpine scenery and authentic cuisine. In addition to skiing, the resorts host events like Snowbombing, a weeklong ski and music festival, and Full Metal Mayrhofen, an offshoot of Germany's Wacken festival.

With these new additions, the Epic Pass now provides access to over 40 ski resorts worldwide, including 37 in North America. This expansion reinforces Vail Resorts' commitment to offering diverse and international skiing options to pass holders.
