Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is giving season pass holders from other resorts a reason to visit, with $60 adult lift tickets available through the end of the 2024-25 season.
Starting from 6 April, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe in Nevada is running a straightforward deal - bring your 2025-26 season pass from any other resort to the ticket window and you can pick up an adult lift ticket for $60. Kids aged 15 and under get in for $30. The discount can't be combined with other offers.
Late-Season Snow Has the Mountain in Good Shape
The timing works out well. Mt. Rose picked up 21 inches of fresh snow from a late-season storm last week, and cold temperatures meant the resort was able to run its snowmaking system for three consecutive days on top of that. For context, 21 inches is roughly half a metre - more than most Australian resorts see in a single dump all season. Spring conditions at Tahoe can be hit or miss, but right now Mt. Rose appears to be on the right side of that equation.
Extended Hours and Spring Break Camps
Mt. Rose is also running extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays, with select lifts operating from the main lodge until 6:00 pm. The resort's Lakeview Deck is open for apres, which is a decent way to wind down after a longer day on snow.
For families, Spring Break kids camps are running daily for ages 7-12. The package includes a full day of ski or snowboard lessons, equipment rental, and lunch - priced at $79 mid-week and $99 on weekends. That's reasonable value when you factor in what rentals and lessons typically cost separately in the Tahoe region.

The DoubleDown Season Pass Angle
There's one more element worth noting. The full ticket price can be applied towards Mt. Rose's DoubleDown Season Pass, which covers the remainder of this season and all of next. So if you're planning to be in the Tahoe area again, the $60 day ticket effectively becomes a credit rather than a sunk cost.
For Australian skiers planning a North American trip, Mt. Rose sits on the north shore of Lake Tahoe at 2,755 metres, making it the highest base elevation of any resort in the Tahoe area. It's smaller than the likes of Palisades or Heavenly, but that also means shorter lift lines and a more low-key atmosphere - which, depending on what you're after, can be a genuine advantage.
