    Sugarloaf Lift System

    Sugarloaf's network of 13 lifts efficiently moves visitors across the mountain, including the SuperQuad, which can transport 2,400 people per hour to prime skiing terrain. The strategically placed lifts provide access to 162 trails and glades, ensuring minimal wait times even during peak periods. The Timberline extension reaches the mountain's summit, giving riders access to Sugarloaf's signature above-treeline terrain.

    Located in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, Sugarloaf sits approximately 4 hours north of Boston and 2.5 hours from Portland. The mountain's position in Maine's western mountains provides stunning views of the Carrabassett Valley and the Bigelow Mountain Range. The surrounding area maintains its authentic Maine character, offering visitors a genuine mountain community experience rather than a commercialized resort atmosphere.

    Season Info

    Winter transforms Sugarloaf into Maine's longest-running ski season, typically operating from mid-November through early May. The mountain's high elevation and northern location combine to create ideal conditions for consistent snowfall, supplemented by advanced snowmaking coverage across 618 acres. Spring brings the famous "soft snow" season, when warmer temperatures and abundant sunshine create perfect conditions for late-season skiing.
