Thredbo Opens New Beginner Surface Lift

Thredbo Resort has recently unveiled 'Freddie's Snowrunner,' Australia's newest ski lift. This exciting addition, located in the Kids Learning Area on Friday Flat, comes just in time for the Australian school holidays. With the introduction of this surface lift, Thredbo Ski Resort now boasts a total of 14 lifts, revolutionising children's skiing and snowboarding lessons.

Spanning an impressive length of 98 meters (322 feet), Freddie's Snowrunner is one of Australia's longest snow runners. It takes young skiers and snowboarders through a tunnel that provides protection from the elements while they enjoy the snow. As they ride down, children can also engage with thrilling obstacles on both sides of the tunnel, adding to the excitement. Moreover, a new office space has been constructed to accommodate on-hand supervisor staff and offer convenient toileting facilities for children during their lessons.

Thredbo Resort, voted Australia's Best Ski Resort For Families for five consecutive years at the Out And About With Kids Readers Choice Awards, is gearing up for an incredible July school holiday season. The booking numbers are strong, thanks to consistent snowfalls in the past week and more snow expected in the coming days.

From July 1 to 16, 2023, Thredbo's highly anticipated Kids Snow Festival will take over the resort. This festival promises non-stop family events, activities, and entertainment. Attendees can look forward to thrilling weekly kids flare runs and fireworks, exclusive movie nights for children, and indulging in Lindt chocolate s'mores by the cozy fire. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunities for great skiing and snowboarding as well.
